Black `N Blue foi formada em 1981, em Portland, OR, por Jaime St. James (vocals), Tommy Thayer (guitar), Jeff Warner (guitar), Patrick Young (bass), e Peter Holmes (drums). Em 1982 a banda faz as malas e muda para Los Angeles. Em 1984 assina com a mega gravadora Geffen Records e lançam o cd "BLACK AND BLUE". É um hard de primeira linha, muito bem tocado com os ótimos vocais de Jaime. Fazem sucesso com esse disco de estréia e em 1986 lançam "Nasty Nasty", tendo como produtor e padrinho, o mestre, "Mister Linguão" Gene Simmons (nem preciso dizer de qual banda né?). Sendo esse o melhor e mais conhecido cd da banda. Ouça "Nasty nasty", "I`ll be there for you","Rules" e "Best and west" e diga se a banda não tem cacife de sobra.
Hoje Jaime St. James está no Warrant substituindo Jani Lane e a banda lançou um cd muito bom "Born Again".
